Filipino-American Association of St. Tammany
The Filipino-American Association of St. Tammany (FAAST) is a social and charitable organization for Filipinos in St. Tammany Parish. FAAST was founded in Slidell, LA with social gatherings comprised of "a small group of Filipino nurses and other Filipino friends and acquaintances in the Slidell area."  The group was established in 1987 and was recognized as a charitable organization in 1988.
The stated mission of the organization is to "embody [Filipino] ideals and heritage; promote unity, mutual assistance, welfare and well-being; .develop enduring and genuine bonds of brotherhood/sisterhood among themselves; maintain and practice the beautiful Filipino customs and tradition; and pursue activities towards the enhancement and common good of the association and the community." 
FAAST hosts a number of events to bring the community together and celebrate Filipino-American culture.
