Description

Ronald Gonzales with C.J. Thiel and another teammate. In this working class community, there weren't many resources for equipment. Thiel reported that the helmets looked like leather, but were actually made of cardboard.

Gonzales played Pee-Wee football with the NORD Mighty Mites. A December 31, 1950 article in the Times-Picayune documents his teams success in the Milk Bowl in Waco, Texas. Gonzales is mentioned as sharing "most valuable back" honors.
